Gifting Stock to EnAble

EnAble Foundation receives gifts of stocks. Gifting stocks is an easy and practical way to give because there is no capital gains tax and the giver receives a tax deduction for the full face amount.

For example, if you bought stock for $1,000 and it’s now worth $5,000, you receive a tax deduction for the entire $5,000 without having a $4,000 capital gain. You save in two ways.

If you’re interested in donating stock or mutual funds and would like more information, you may call DeAnn Rauth at
678.468.9980 or contact her via
e-mail: drauth@enablega.org

Special Need for

EnAble's Medical Assistance Fund

We at EnAble appreciate friends like you who care about

the individuals we serve more than you can imagine!

I wanted to let you know about a continuing special need we have at EnAble.  Every month, many of those we support have various medical needs such as visits to doctors, dentists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, and various other specialists.  Sometimes these visits are for routine care and at other times they are for more serious needs.  Medicaid covers some of these costs but usually not all of them.  One individual recently required extensive medical support.  The bills totaled $20,882.65; $17,898.57 was covered by state and federal funds leaving a balance of $2,984.06.  This individual has no family support at all, so the remainder was left for EnAble to cover.

Depending on each individual’s circumstances and whether these needs are covered by Medicaid or whether he or she has sufficient personal finances from supported employment or family support, not all of these doctor and dental visits are compensated back to EnAble.  This is also true for various prescription drugs, over the counter medicines, and eyeglasses they need.   In any given month, hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars or more are spent to provide medical care to individuals we support, for which EnAble does not receive any state or federal funding.

Other medical services provided by EnAble to those we serve include a staff registered nurse who oversees the required record keeping and medical support given to the individuals served at EnAble, a part-time registered nurse who trains our staff in providing medication support to those we serve, and two medical support staff who assist clients in going to their medical appointments.

A part-time behavioral specialist is on retainer as well to assist with behavioral issues and to train staff in how to best meet client needs.  Last year, EnAble spent more than $80,000 on those needs, for which we received no state or federal funding.

That’s why I am writing you today . . . to ask for your assistance again this summer.  Through the generosity of one family, a special Medical Assistance Fund has been established with gifts over the last three years of $8,000 to help provide needed medical care and medicines for those who don’t have sufficient funding to cover the costs.  We greatly appreciate these caring gifts as well as those from many others who contributed to this special request last year!  But as you can see, the needs are even larger.

Will you give some thought and prayer to helping EnAble provide medical support to those we serve?  Since you are part of the “extended family” that cares for the individuals served by EnAble, I hope you will consider helping them through a special, designated gift to EnAble’s Medical Assistance Fund.  It would help so much and make a real difference to many who are in real need of support!

If you would like to help, please cut or tear off the bottom reply portion of this letter and return it with your tax deductible gift made payable to EnAble Foundation in the enclosed reply envelope.

Thanks for all the love you show and the support you give to EnAble and those we serve throughout the year.  Your friendship and faithfulness in helping care for their needs mean a lot to all of us!

On behalf of all those we are privileged to serve,

Cecelia "Cec" Camp

President/Executive Director
